FNTD User Guide ("we", "us", "our", or "the site") operates www.fntduserguide.com, this policy explains what information is collected when you visit the site, how it is used, and who it is shared with. We are an independent fan project and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the game's developers, unless stated otherwise.
By using the site, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
Information we collect
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not intentionally collect personal details such as your name or email address. However, like virtually all websites, some information is collected automatically when you visit:
- IP address. Your device's IP address is collected and processed by our hosting/content-delivery provider and by the advertising and analytics services we use (see below). This is standard for websites and is used to deliver the site to you, keep it secure, and serve advertising.
- Device and browsing information. Such as your browser type, operating system, device type, screen size, the page that referred you, and the pages you view on the site.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Small files stored by your browser, used by our advertising and analytics partners (see "Cookies, advertising, and analytics" below).
- Poll votes (only if you vote). If you vote in a poll, we count your answer and keep a scrambled code made from your IP address to limit repeat voting. See "Polls" below.
- Guide ratings (only if you rate). If you rate the guide on the home page, we store your star rating with a scrambled code made from your IP address and a random code your browser makes, so you can change your rating and the same connection cannot rate many times. See "Guide ratings" below.
- Ask Parvus chat messages (only if you use the chat). If you ask Parvus a question, your message is sent to an AI model so it can write a reply. We do not save your messages. See "Ask Parvus (AI chat)" below.
- Push notification sign-ups (only if you turn them on). If you choose to turn on notifications, we store the information your browser gives us to deliver them, and which games you chose. See "Push notifications" below.
How your information is shared
We share the automatically-collected information described above — including your IP address — with the third-party services that make the site work. We do this so the site can load, stay secure, display ads, and so we can understand how the guide is used:
- Cloudflare provides our hosting, content delivery, and security. Cloudflare receives and processes your IP address and request data to serve the site and protect it against abuse. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Google AdSense serves the advertisements on the site. Google and its partners may use your IP address, cookies, and device information to serve and personalize ads and to measure their performance.
- Google Analytics measures how the site is used — for example which guides are opened, how long pages are viewed, and roughly where visitors are located — so we know what to improve. It uses cookies and processes your IP address, and we use it only in aggregate; we do not use it to identify individual visitors. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we only share the data needed to operate the site and display advertising as described here. However, under some US state privacy laws, such as California's, letting advertising partners like Google use cookies to show you personalized ads across websites can count as "selling" or "sharing" personal information. You can opt out at any time, as described in Your privacy choices below.
International data transfers
Cloudflare and Google are based in the United States, and they may process your information, including your IP address, in the United States and other countries. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, this means your information is transferred outside your country. These providers protect such transfers under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and its UK and Swiss extensions) and/or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
Cookies, advertising, and analytics
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or browse in private/incognito mode. Blocking cookies may change the ads you see but will not break the guide content.
Google Analytics also sets cookies to measure site usage. If you would prefer not to be included in that measurement, you can install Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or block cookies as described above. Opting out will not break the guide content.
Your privacy choices
You can opt out of the use of your information for personalized advertising (which some US state laws treat as "selling" or "sharing") in any of these ways:
- Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser or a browser extension sends the GPC signal, the site treats it as an opt-out: it asks Google to use restricted data processing for ads and analytics, which turns off ad personalization for your visits. You do not need to do anything else.
- Google's ad settings and cookie controls. Use the opt-out links in "Cookies, advertising, and analytics" above, or block or delete cookies in your browser.
Opting out does not stop ads from appearing; you will see ads that are not personalized instead.
Push notifications
Notifications are off unless you turn them on. If you click Turn on and allow notifications in your browser, we store:
- A push subscription. This is a web address and encryption keys created by your browser's push service, used only to deliver notifications to that browser. It does not contain your name, email address, or account details, and we do not use it to track you.
- The games you chose. For example FNTD 2, BBN or FWM, so you only get notifications for those games.
This is stored with Cloudflare, our hosting provider. When we send a notification, it is encrypted and passed to your browser's push service, which delivers it to your device: Google (Chrome, Android and most other Chromium-based browsers), Apple (Safari and iPhone/iPad), Mozilla (Firefox), or Microsoft (Edge on Windows). Those services handle the delivery under their own privacy policies.
Your browser also remembers, on your device only, when the notification popup was last shown and which games you picked, so the popup does not keep reappearing. This is never sent to us.
You can turn notifications off at any time with the bell button on the site, or by blocking notifications for this site in your browser settings. When you turn them off with the bell, your subscription is deleted from our records straight away. If you block notifications in your browser or clear your site data instead, your subscription is deleted automatically the next time we try to send a notification and your browser's push service reports that it is no longer valid.
Polls
From time to time we run a poll on the site. Voting is optional. If you vote:
- Your answer is only added to a running total for that answer. We do not store which answer you picked alongside anything that could identify you.
- A scrambled code made from your IP address is stored for that poll so the same internet connection cannot vote more than a few times. It is made with a one-way hash and a secret key, so it cannot be turned back into your IP address, and it is different for every poll. These codes are deleted once the poll ends.
Votes are stored with Cloudflare, our hosting provider. Your browser also remembers, on your device only, which polls you have already answered, so the poll popup does not keep reappearing.
Guide ratings
The home page lets you rate the guide from half a star to 5 stars. Rating is optional. If you rate:
- Your rating is stored and added to the average and the number of ratings shown on the home page.
- A scrambled code made from your IP address, made the same one-way way as for polls, is stored with your rating so the same internet connection can only rate a few times. Together with a random code your browser makes, it lets you change your rating later instead of adding a new one.
Ratings are stored with Cloudflare, our hosting provider, for as long as the rating feature exists. Your browser also remembers, on your device only, the random code and the rating you picked.
Ask Parvus (AI chat)
Parvus, the site's mascot, can answer questions about the games and the guide. Using the chat is optional. When you send a message:
- Your message is sent to Cloudflare Workers AI, which runs the AI model that writes the reply. The last few messages of the conversation and the page you are on are sent with it, so the reply makes sense. Cloudflare handles this under its Privacy Policy, and states that it does not use these messages or Parvus's replies to train AI models.
- We do not save your messages or Parvus's replies. The conversation is kept only in your browser tab and is gone when you leave or reload the page.
- A scrambled code made from your IP address is stored to limit how many questions can be asked per hour and per day. It is made with a one-way hash and a secret key, so it cannot be turned back into your IP address, and it is deleted automatically after about two days. We also keep a daily count of how many questions were asked in total, which contains nothing about you.
Please do not type personal information such as your real name, address, school, phone number or passwords into the chat. Parvus is an AI and can make mistakes, so check important details against the guides. Parvus is a fan-made helper and is not affiliated with Roblox or the game developers. If a message mentions self-harm, abuse or someone being in danger, Parvus shows a fixed message that points to a trusted adult and to free helplines. Parvus is not a substitute for professional help or emergency services.
Sponsor requests
If you send a request through our sponsor form, we collect what you enter: your name, your studio or business name, your email address, your Discord username if you give one, the link to your game or website, and your answers about placement, length, budget and anything else you add. For a Roblox game, we also look up the game's public name, creator, visits and player count from Roblox. To stop spam, we store a scrambled code made from your IP address, made the same one-way way as for polls, so the same connection can only send a few requests a day.
We use these details only to reply to your request and arrange a sponsorship, and we never sell them. They are stored with Cloudflare, and a copy of each new request may be posted to a private channel on our Discord server so we see it quickly. We delete a request once we are done with it, and automatically after 12 months at the latest. To have yours deleted sooner, email contact@fntduserguide.com.
Children's privacy
This site is a general-audience gaming guide and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The Ask Parvus chat asks visitors not to share personal information, and we do not save chat messages. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live — for example, the EEA/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA — you may have rights regarding your data, such as the right to access, delete, or object to certain processing. Because we do not hold user accounts, most of the data involved is handled by our advertising and hosting providers, and you can exercise your choices through Google Ad Settings and your browser's cookie controls. If you turned on push notifications, you can delete that information at any time by turning them off with the bell button. To make a request or ask a question, contact us using the details below.
Data retention
We do not maintain our own database of visitors, other than push notification subscriptions for people who choose to turn notifications on, poll totals, guide ratings, and requests sent through the sponsor form (deleted within 12 months). The scrambled codes used to limit repeat poll voting are deleted when each poll ends, and the ones used to limit Ask Parvus questions are deleted after about two days. Ask Parvus chat messages are not stored. Those are kept until you turn notifications off, or until your browser's push service reports that the subscription is no longer valid. Automatically-generated logs (for example, via Cloudflare) and advertising/analytics data are retained by those providers in accordance with their own policies.
Links to other sites
The site contains links to third-party websites (for example, Discord, the game, and artist portfolios). We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes take effect as soon as they are posted on this page, and the "Last updated" date above will be revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
